Benefits For Full-time Personnel

Employees are eligible after six months of employment.
Employees earn 48 hours of sick leave per year. The leave is accrued at four hours per month.
The city has nine fixed holidays annually.

Employees may choose between two Open Access Plus plans, or may waive coverage. The city pays 85% of the premium for the employee at the HMO rate and 80% for employee dependent coverage.
Employees are eligible the beginning of the month following 30 days of employment.
A group policy is available at the employee’s expense.
The city pays the premium for a $20,000 life insurance policy. It also, includes an additional $20,000 accidental death / dismemberment coverage. A small life insurance policy is provided for dependents.
The city pension plan is available to full-time employees. The city contributes the equivalent of 10% of an employee’s earnings per year after one year of employment. Employees are fully vested after five years.
Deferred compensation is available at the employee’s expense.
Short-term coverage is available at the employee’s expense. Long term disability coverage is provided by the city. Benefits begin after 180 days for up to 60% of employee’s regular salary.
Automatic paycheck deposit is mandatory for all employees. The payroll schedule is biweekly.
