December 2024 Update from Waste Management:
The city's sanitation vendor, Waste Management, has upgraded their garbage collection trucks to automatic one-arm trucks due to safety and labor-related issues. These trucks use an automatic lifting arm to empty carts, making collection efficient and safer for our community and for WM drivers. To ensure service, please place all trash in bags and place the bags inside the trash card provided to you. All materials must fit inside your trash cart with the lid firmly closed — no extra bags or materials outside the cart will be collected. Please remember to place carts 3 feet away from any obstacles (cars, trees, mailboxes, etc.) to allow the automatic arm to lift and empty the carts. The wheels of the cart should be placed toward the house. Carts should be placed by the curb no later than 6 a.m. on your scheduled collection day.
