Division Overview & Responsibilities
The Business Services Division is the primary point of contact for visitors and callers to Lilburn City Hall. As the city’s only front-facing department, this team provides exceptional customer service while managing a wide range of vital administrative functions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Customer Service & Inquiries: Responding to phone calls on the city’s main line and assisting walk-in visitors with general questions and services.
- Licensing & Permits: Issuing occupation tax certificates, alcohol licenses, and server permits.
- Permit Intake & Routing: Accepting applications and plans for building permits, routing them to the Planning Department for review, and issuing permits once approved.
- Tax Collection: Managing the collection of property taxes, excise taxes, and lodging/accommodation taxes.
- Additional Permits & Programs: Overseeing temporary use and sign permits as well as administering the city’s rental program.
This small but efficient team of four ensures that residents, businesses, and visitors receive prompt and professional service while helping keep Lilburn running smoothly.
