Planning Commission Meeting
Thursday, January 28, 2021
The Planning Commission is established by local ordinance and conducts public hearings on land uses, zoning changes, proposed subdivision of property, and actions for consideration by the City Council. The Planning Commission also reviews and recommends changes in zoning regulations and future land use plans.
The City of Lilburn issued two emergency orders in March 2020: Emergency Order No. 2020-01 and Emergency Order No. 2020-02 declaring a local state of emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Georgia courts have determined that board and commission meetings are subject to the Georgia Open Meetings Act. Under the Open Meetings Act, when there is a public health situation that rises to the level of a pandemic, municipalities are permitted to hold teleconference-type meetings and hearings as long as they notify the public of the type of meeting or hearings and allow the public the opportunity to participate. Due to a recent security breach on the ZOOM platform, the City of Lilburn will be using a teleconference for this meeting and the public can participate using the instructions below:
