Lilburn Christmas Parade

Saturday, December 6, 2014

We are watching the weather closely in anticipation of today's parade. The parade will go on as planned at 10 a.m., rain or shine. Please check back for updates. Regardless of the weather, there will be children's activities, refreshments, photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and visits with Olaf in the City Hall auditorium.

Join your friends and neighbors as the City of Lilburn proudly presents the annual Lilburn Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 6.

This year's parade theme is "Christmas Around the World". Arcado Elementary School Principal Penny Palmer Young will serve as Grand Marshal for the parade.

Due to construction on Main Street, the City of Lilburn has changed the Lilburn Christmas Parade route. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Poplar Street at Salem Missionary Baptist Church, turn left onto Main Street, and end at City Hall. Spectators can line up on Main Street in front of City Hall and the Shoppes in Old Town, as usual, or on Poplar Street. Church and Poplar streets will be closed to through traffic starting at 6:45 a.m. until the parade finishes around 11:30 a.m. Main Street from Poplar Street to Camp Creek Road will be closed from 9:30 a.m. until parade completion.

Following the parade, a professional photographer will be in the auditorium to take complimentary pictures of children visiting both Santa and Mrs. Claus.  Parents are welcome to also take photos.

Highlights of this year’s parade include Olaf from “Frozen,” compliments of Grace – Snellville’s KidzLife; royalty from the Georgia Renaissance Festival; General Grizzly from Georgia Gwinnett College; and many other characters from local businesses. Winners of the holiday coloring contest will ride in the parade, as well.

The Lilburn Co-op will have food donation containers at City Hall.  For a list of items that are needed, please visit http://lilburncoop.org/.
