The structure at 127 Main Street will be moved within the next two weeks, weather permitting. Main Street will remain open.
Built in 1895, the structure at 127 Main Street was home for the train depot manager until it was purchased by the Hopkins family in the 1920s. It has served as both residential and commercial uses since this time, and it is ready to be returned to residential use. In the first quarter of 2024, the structure will be carefully moved from its current location to Monroe, Georgia, where it will be returned to its original state as a forever home. Lilburn will benefit from the move of the structure as a newly constructed, brick restaurant will take its place!
