Chipper Week
Lilburn’s Chipper Week is a free service for homeowners within city limits, offering curbside chipping of small trees, limbs and shrubbery. The Public Works team works hard to clear visible debris piles every other week, but pickup times may vary based on workload and season. If your debris hasn’t been collected after two weeks, you can request removal online or call 770-638-2186.

Citizens Police Academy
The 2025 Lilburn Citizen's Police Academy is accepting 20 applicants, with preference for those who live or work in the city. Sessions are held every Thursday from now through May 8 at the Lilburn Police Department—email Monica Sims at MSims@cityoflilburn.com for an application!

Food Truck Tuesday
Food Truck Tuesday is tomorrow, April 7th! Come out to Old Town Lilburn for tomorrow's Food Truck Tuesday with Borther's Chimichurry and Ponko Chicken. Enjoy a taste of local cuisine every Tuesday at the corners of Main St. and First Avenue in Old Town Lilburn, running from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Explore various food options each week from multiple vendors.

Great American Cleanup
Join us this Saturday, April 12th from 8:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the City Hall & Library Parking Lot for the Great American Cleanup. This is your chance to safely dispose of unwanted items while helping to keep Lilburn clean and green!
We will be collecting items such as sneakers, paint, tires, bulk trash, scrap metal and offering on-site paper shredding. However, please note that some items may have a collection fee, so be prepared for that. More details on fees will be shared soon. Additionally, we are in the process of updating our website with a full list of accepted and unaccepted items for the event. Comprehensive Plan
The City of Lilburn is excited to announce that on April 14th, we will kick off a pivotal update to the 2024 Comprehensive Plan. The establishment of the goals and priorities of the Mayor and Council represents an exciting chance to align the foundational planning effort of a Comprehensive Plan Update with the united vision of City Leadership to provide the foundation for smart, responsible and thoughtful growth in Lilburn for years to come.
This effort will include public engagement of both citizens and community stakeholders over the course of this year under the thoughtful and professional guidance of TSW to ensure that our planning efforts integrate with the efforts of Gwinnett County to bring about growth that reinforces Lilburn's identity while connecting with the whole of Gwinnett County. Be sure to stay tuned for more opportunities to engage with this effort and make your voice heard!
Bryson Hood Re-alignment
Traffic signals on Lawrenceville Hwy. were activated last week, and signals for Bryson Park and Hood Rd. will be activated in the coming weeks. Stay alert for updates as the project progresses!
Railroad Avenue
Demolition debris is being cleared, and construction materials are arriving as site work gets underway. Stay tuned for more updates as progress continues!
Playground Improvements
We’re in the final stretch of the playground project and can’t wait to announce its reopening soon! For your safety, please respect all posted signs and construction fencing and stay out of the area.
Gwinnett County Tax Assessor Notices
Lilburn residents, be on the lookout for your Annual Notice of Assessment from the Gwinnett County Tax Assessor’s Office, arriving May 23, 2025. If you need to appeal, the deadline is July 7, 2025—later than in previous years!
Old Town Design Guidelines
The City of Lilburn staff is working with the Sizemore Group and the Lilburn Community Improvement District to create design guidelines for the Old Town Overlay. To implement these guidelines, an architectural review board will be established, consisting of appointed design professionals.
