[ARCHIVED] The Lilburn Loop (formerly the Monday Minute): May 5

Dear Neighbors,

We have heard such great things from you all about how you are enjoying the Monday Minute. We are, too! In fact, the Monday Minute has been such a successful endeavor for us that we will soon be merging our bi-monthly digital newsletter into this weekly email series. It just doesn't feel right to hold onto some stories to share at a later date when we can share them right now, right when they happen!

So in honor of its new role as THE one-stop shop to "stay in the loop" on all things Lilburn, we thought this series deserved a new name. Introducing — The Lilburn Loop!

You can subscribe to the Lilburn Loop on our sign-up page to have it come straight to your inbox, or find it here and on the city's Facebook page each Monday.

Here's this week's highlights:

The Lilburn Loop: May 5

Special Called Work Session Tonight, 5/5

The meeting will cover the current revenue sources that support our operations, followed by a discussion on where service improvements are needed most. The Mayor and City Council will then look at the cost of the resources required to meet those needs. Finally, we'll review possible funding options ahead of finalizing and voting on the FY 25/26 budget at the May 12th Council meeting.

The City is aware of ongoing issues with the RequestTracker system, particularly when accessed on mobile devices. An upgrade to improve performance and usability is scheduled to be implemented within the next 60 days. We appreciate your patience as we work to enhance your experience.

Yard Sales & Ice Cream Sales

In the City of Lilburn, yard sales are permitted at residential properties without the need for a special permit. These sales are intended for occasional, non-commercial events held by residents.

However, other types of sales may require a permit:

Commercial Sales: Selling goods or services beyond occasional yard sales, especially if conducted regularly, may necessitate a business license or other permits.

Public Spaces: Selling items in front of another business, on street corners, in city parks, or other public areas is generally prohibited without proper authorization.

Mobile Vendors: Mobile food vendors, including ice cream trucks, are subject to specific regulations and must obtain the appropriate permits to operate within city limits.

For detailed information on business licenses and related permits, please visit www.cityoflilburn.com.

To report unauthorized sales or for further assistance, please report the concern through RequestTracker.

Let's work together to maintain the integrity and charm of our community!

Message from Lilburn Police Regarding Loud Mufflers

Lilburn residents, we’ve heard your concerns about loud mufflers—and the noise on our streets confirms it. Excessive vehicle noise is becoming a growing concern in our community. In response, the Lilburn Police Department is increasing enforcement of existing vehicle noise regulations.

Residents who notice recurring issues are encouraged to report them through the Request Tracker system. Please note: this tool is intended for ongoing or repeat incidents—not one-time occurrences.

We ask all vehicle owners to check their mufflers to ensure they comply with Georgia law (O.C.G.A. 40-8-71). Our goal isn’t to penalize, but to support a more respectful and peaceful environment for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation.
