The Monday Minute: April 21
April 14th Council Meeting Recap
At the April 14th City Council meeting, Mayor and Council addressed a full agenda, including two public hearing items and two general business items. All items received approval.
Public Hearing Items:
1. Special Use Permit Approved for Auto and Truck Service Center
Council approved SUP-2025-01, granting a Special Use Permit with conditions for an Auto and Truck Service Center at 4450 Lawrenceville Highway.
2. Amendment to Temporary Use Ordinance
The City’s Temporary Use ordinance was amended to allow two fireworks displays, carnivals, or circuses per year per parcel, doubling the previous limit.
Agenda Items:
1. Alcohol Beverage License Appeals Process Improved
Council approved updates to the City’s process for appealing denials of alcohol beverage license applications. The revision enhances clarity and efficiency in the review and appeals process.
2. Appointment of Municipal Court Solicitors
Mayor and Council approved the appointment of two new municipal court solicitors, reinforcing the City’s commitment to maintaining a strong and effective municipal court system.
The next City Council meeting is scheduled for May 12th.
April 16th DDA Meeting Recap
On Wednesday night, the Downtown Development Authority held a work session to discuss plans for the 2.6-acre assemblage Main Street and First Avenue.

Mayor's Town Hall Tonight, 4/21
