Heads up, Greenway Trail lovers! Beginning tomorrow, the Greenway Trail between Plantation Millworks and Cantsink will be closed for an extended period due to ongoing construction on the nearby apartments and parking deck.
Why the closure?
We’re making important utility upgrades in the area, including a sewer tie-in and storm line improvements. To complete this work safely and efficiently, we need to close this section of the trail starting tomorrow.
Estimated Reopening: On or before July 1, 2025
We’re aiming to finish all utility crossings before reopening this part of the trail—and we’ll keep you posted along the way. If we can open it sooner, we will!
What to expect:
Temporary fencing to prevent access to the closed section
Clear signage to help redirect trail users
Regular updates from our team
What’s still open?
The Greenway Trail on the park side of Main Street will remain open.
The Rockbridge Road side of the trail can still be accessed from Lion’s Club Park and Velva Court Circle
