Recap from the June 9 Council Meeting

On June 9, the Mayor and Council approved the operating and capital budgets for the upcoming fiscal year totaling $41M. The primary operating fund for the city is the General Fund with an adopted budget of $14.8M. Rock the Park to be Rescheduled

Unfortunately, last week's intense weather forced the cancellation of Rock the Park just as everything was set and ready to go. No one was more disappointed than our city staff — and we know many of you were looking forward to the fun as well. We’re actively working on rescheduling and will share details as soon as they’re finalized. Thank you for your understanding and stay tuned!

Food Truck Tuesday 

Food Truck Tuesday is rolling back into Old Town Lilburn tomorrow, June 17! Join us at the corner of Main Street and First Avenue anytime between 12 PM and 9 PM for a full day of delicious food and community fun. This week’s featured trucks are C-Bo’s BBQ, serving up slow-smoked Southern classics, and Brother’s Chimichurri, known for their bold, flavorful Argentine-inspired dishes. Whether you’re stopping by for lunch, dinner, or both, you’ll find great eats and a friendly vibe in the heart of Lilburn. Don’t forget to bring your appetite—and a few friends! City Offices Closed Thursday, June 19

Thursday, June 19, city offices will be closed in observance of Juneteenth. Trash pickup will not be affected.

Bingo Night at the Wynne-Russell House This Saturday, June 21

Looking for a fun night out with friends? Don’t miss Bingo Night at the Historic Wynne-Russell House on Saturday, June 21 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM! For just $15, guests will enjoy snacks, drinks, and one bingo card—with chances to win great prizes throughout the evening. Additional bingo cards will be available for purchase at the house (1 for $2 or 3 for $5). This event is for adults only, and seating is limited, so early registration is encouraged. Tax Assessment Appeals

The Gwinnett County Tax Commissioner's Office mailed 2025 property assessments to all property owners in Lilburn. Please review your assessed value. Lilburn Community Garden

Things are starting to take shape at the Community Garden! This week, crews will be prepping the area and beginning installation of columns for the new sign, archway, and fence. Stay tuned as this space continues to bloom!

Greenway Trail Closure Update

Friendly reminder that a portion of the Greenway Trail—approximately 330 yards—is currently closed for construction. But good news! The trail is still open and accessible from both Velva Circle and Lion's Club Park. We hope to reopen the trail in July. Please use these alternate access points while the closure is in effect, and thank you for your patience as we work to keep the trail safe and enjoyable for everyone! Closure Map

Bryson/Hood Road Re-alignment Project Update

Work continues to progress on the Bryson/Hood Road realignment project, which is now approximately 80% complete with completion expected late summer. The tie-in at Lilburn School Road has been completed, with curb and gutter now in place. Barring any significant weather delays, paving is expected to take place within the week. Meanwhile, grading and base work for the new right-turn lane will be finished this week, with paving scheduled to coincide with the Lilburn School Road paving.

Railroad Avenue Project Update
