The Lilburn Daze Arts & Crafts Festival will celebrate its 40th anniversary this year on Saturday, Oct. 12, come rain or shine, in Lilburn City Park. Organized by the GFWC Lilburn Woman's Club and co-sponsored by the City of Lilburn, this event is sure to please visitors of all ages.
The fun starts at 9 a.m. and runs through 5 p.m. Admission and parking are free for this event, and shuttle buses will start running at 8:30 a.m. from Lilburn First Baptist Church and the Market Place Shopping Center (near Chick-fil-A). The opening ceremony at 9 a.m. will include a dedication of “Adventure Mountain,” the first sculpture and water feature in the park.
Lilburn Daze is steeped with hometown tradition, yet provides shoppers with something fresh and new to be discovered every year.
-Creative artisans from around the region will display and sell their work amidst the tree-lined park and its surrounding greenway trails.
-The Children’s Area is sure to attract kids of all ages with the free “Make & Take” children’s art pavilion, pumpkin carving contest, face painting, train rides, inflatables, petting zoo, a giant quad-jump, and a wood-working table.
-There will be continuous entertainment on stage with a wide variety of musical genres, including jazz, country, oldies, and blues, and showcasing excellent local talent.
-The food row will be overflowing with tasty treats, with everything from funnel cakes to BBQ.
-You can even get your flu shot and blood pressure checked at the Health Tent.
“The City of Lilburn is proud to co-sponsor the 40th anniversary Lilburn Daze festival at City Park. The Lilburn Woman’s Club has lots of special activities planned to commemorate this milestone, and this year’s festival promises to be the biggest and best yet,” Lilburn Mayor Johnny Crist said.
Proceeds from this event are returned to the community in the form of scholarships, youth art competitions, school and library equipment, public safety and health support.
