The City of Lilburn Department of Planning and Economic Development has begun a master planning process for Lilburn City Park and the Camp Creek Greenway. The scope of the master plan includes only City Park and the Greenway, not other county parks or city property in Lilburn.
One of the first steps in the process was a public opinion poll, to determine what residents envision for their park in the next 5-10 years. From Feb. 23 to Mar. 23, public input was gathered through an online survey. Park users gave their opinions regarding current usage and future amenities. The results were discussed at a public meeting on Mar. 23 at City Hall, and a slide show of the results is available below.
The Planning Department conduct an analysis of what facilities are needed by compiling an inventory of other area park facilities, as well as determining what demographics are being served. Using all this data and public input, a strategy for park development over the next 5-10 years will be created, along with an operations and budget plan.
Progress on the master plan will be shared in the city's newsletter and e-newsletter. Another public meeting will be scheduled when the master plan has been completed.
