[ARCHIVED] Notice of Qualifying Dates

The City of Lilburn will hold a general election on Nov. 7, 2017 for Lilburn City Council Posts 3 and 4. All persons desiring to run for office must qualify for candidacy at Lilburn City Hall, beginning Aug. 21 at 8:30 a.m. and ending Aug. 23, 2017 at 5 p.m.

Anyone running for these seats must be a registered voter who has lived in the city limits for at least one year. The qualifying fee is $105.
Council members serve four-year terms and are elected at large, meaning that each member serves all city residents rather than a district.

The election will be held Nov. 7 at Lilburn City Hall, 340 Main St., Lilburn, GA, from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. If there is a need for a runoff election, the date will be Dec. 5. Only registered voters who reside in the Lilburn city limits may cast a ballot in this municipal election. The last day to register and be eligible to vote in this election is October 10.

The City of Lilburn has posted public notices regarding this election in English and Spanish on the city website, at City Hall and in the legal organ. These notices satisfy the requirements of O.C.G.A. Sec. 21-2-132(d)(3), as well as the bilingual election requirements of Section 203 of the Voting Rights Act, 52 United States Constitution Subsection 10503.

Questions about qualifying should be directed to City Clerk Melissa Penate, 770-638-2226, mpenate@cityoflilburn.com.
