[ARCHIVED] Lilburn City Hall to offer shelter

Lilburn City Hall-Library will be available as an emergency shelter to residents, if needed, during and after the impact of Hurricane Irma.

On Monday, Sept. 11, City of Lilburn will activate its Emergency Operations Center, which will be the hub of city-related emergency operations during the storm. The Lilburn Police Department will have extra personnel on duty Monday. The Public Works Department is staging equipment to clear roads of debris.

On Monday at 8:30 a.m., the first-floor of Lilburn City Hall-Library, located at 340 Main St., will be converted to an emergency shelter and will remain open until it is no longer needed on Tuesday. City Hall will not be open for regular business on Monday.

The Lilburn City Council meeting scheduled for Monday has been postponed until a later date to be determined. Advanced Disposal has announced that sanitation collection services will be delayed by one day this week for residents inside the city limits.
