On June 29, 2020 Governor Brian Kemp extended the Public Health State of Emergency through August 11, 2020. On July 15, 2020, Governor Kemp issued additional guidance on empowering a healthy Georgia. Unless otherwise noted in the executive order, it is in effect from July 16 through July 31, 2020.
Residents and visitors of the State of Georgia must practice social distancing and refrain from gathering as defined in the order. People are strongly encouraged to wear a face covering while outside of their place of residence, except when eating, drinking, or exercising outdoors. Residents and visitors shall practice sanitation in accordance with the guidelines published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Those individuals that meet the criteria for higher risk of severe illness as defined by the CDC are required to shelter in place through July 31, 2020.
