Tonight the Mayor and City Council held a Special Called meeting to approve freezing of the city’s participation in the Georgia Municipal Association Defined Contribution Plan. A 60-day notice was required before the adoption and implementation of a Defined Pension Program for city employees. The plan will be presented at the October 13th Council Meeting for review by Mayor and City Council. If approved, the starting date will be December 1, 2025.
