The Court processes an estimated 7,600 citations annually and oversees a variety of hearings, including arraignments, bench trials, code enforcement cases, teen court, jail video conferences, and red light camera violations.
The Court handles traffic violations such as speeding, DUI, and other offenses, along with misdemeanor cases involving violations of state and city ordinances. It also conducts First Appearance Hearings to determine whether sufficient evidence exists to move forward with a case.
In addition to sentencing, the Court supervises probation to ensure individuals fulfill the conditions set forth by the judge. The Municipal Court is also responsible for issuing arrest warrants for individuals who fail to appear or comply with court orders.
