January 12, 2026 | Council Meeting Recap

Posted on January 15, 2026 at 2:21 PM by Nicole Newsom

At the City Council Meeting on Monday, January 12, Council held two public hearings. The first addressed amendments to ensure proper restoration of Railroad Avenue in the event of future street cuts for utility installation. This is particularly important as this section of Railroad Avenue will feature pavers following completion of the Porchline and Parking Deck project. The second public hearing considered a Special Use Permit for 406 Pleasant Hill Road to allow for an Auto and Truck Service Center, which was required due to the building being unoccupied since 2023.

Council also approved the 2026 Mayor and City Council appointments, adopted an ordinance adding a new section to Chapter 30 of the Lilburn City Code establishing Rules of Municipal Court, and approved a settlement agreement with Francis Cole at no cost to the City, closing out a Code Enforcement case.

A big thank you to Cub Scout Pack 504 from Trinity Lutheran for attending the meeting and leading the pledge to the flag.
