Last Week to Appeal Tax Assessments
If you received your 2025 Annual Notice of Assessment from Gwinnett County and disagree with the valuation, now’s the time to act. You have 45 days from your notice date, and for most Lilburn homeowners, that means this Monday, July 7, 2025, is your absolute deadline to file an appeal. To appeal, use the secure online PT-311A form or mail your completed form (postmarked by July 7). It’s free to appeal—and could positively impact your 2025 property tax bill. Miss the deadline? You’ll have to wait until next year — so don’t delay! Learn More About Appeals
Millage Rate Hearings
The public is invited to comment on the 2025 millage rate prior to its adoption by Lilburn City Council. The millage rate is proposed to remain the same as the 2024 property tax rate at 4.43 mills. Real and personal property taxes make up approximately 27 percent of the city’s general fund budget. This estimate includes changes in the assessed value of properties, pending appeals and new growth. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $278,600 (median value of owner-occupied housing units in Lilburn from 2019-2023 per U.S. Census Bureau) is approximately $42.79 and the proposed increase for a non-homestead property with a fair market value of $278,600 is approximately $44.80.
The City Council is scheduled to adopt the 2025 millage rate at its regularly scheduled meeting at 7:30 p.m. on July 14, 2025, in Council Chambers, 340 Main Street, Lilburn, GA 30045. Hearings are scheduled for the following dates and times in council chambers:
- 10 a.m. Friday, July 11
- 6 p.m. Friday, July 11
- 6 p.m. Monday, July 14
