We hope you had a fantastic Fourth of July! If you attended Sparkle in the Park, thank you for joining us for an evening of fun, fireworks, and community spirit. We loved seeing so many smiling faces in Lilburn City Park!
RECAP FROM THE 7/1 Special-called Work Session
At the most recent Idea Session, Mayor and Council explored several forward-thinking topics, including potential park expansion, beautification efforts, and upcoming road paving projects. A key focus of the discussion was how to continue building a strong, connected community. We appreciate the thoughtful dialogue and shared vision for Lilburn’s future.
Food Truck Tuesday
This week is Food Truck Tuesday in the Park! Join us Tomorrow (Tuesday), July 8 from 5–9 p.m. at Lilburn City Park for a delicious day out. Enjoy eats from Burgers 21, La Escalera, Just Eat It, Essential Bowls, Rubens Cuban, My Vietnamese Food Mobile, Tiki’s Shaved Ice, and Top It Off Funnel Cake. Millage Rate Hearings
The public is invited to comment on the 2025 millage rate prior to its adoption by Lilburn City Council. The millage rate is proposed to remain the same as the 2024 property tax rate at 4.43 mills. Real and personal property taxes make up approximately 27 percent of the city’s general fund budget. This estimate includes changes in the assessed value of properties, pending appeals and new growth. The City Council is scheduled to adopt the 2025 millage rate at its regularly scheduled meeting at 7:30 p.m. on July 14, 2025, in Council Chambers, 340 Main Street, Lilburn, GA 30045. Hearings are scheduled for the following dates and times in council chambers:
- 10 a.m. Friday, July 11
- 6 p.m. Friday, July 11
- 6 p.m. Monday, July 14

TOWN HALL SCHEDULED FOR 7/14
Looking ahead, Mayor Crist’s Town Hall is coming up on Monday, July 14 at 7 p.m. Join the conversation and share your thoughts—no agenda, just open dialogue. This month, the Lilburn Police Department will be in attendance to answer your public safety questions directly.
CITY BOARDS ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
Want to help shape Lilburn’s future? The City of Lilburn is looking for passionate residents and business owners to get involved and make a difference by serving on one of our volunteer boards.
These include:
- Downtown Development Authority
- Planning Commission
- Design Review Board
- Lilburn Community Improvement District (CID) Representative
- Zoning Board of Appeals
- Merit Board
Some boards and commissions require that you be a City of Lilburn resident, so be sure to review the qualifications when applying. If you care about the direction of our city and want to play an active role in its growth and development, we’d love to hear from you! Apply online by July 11, 2025 for current openings.
QUALIFYING PERIOD FOR CITY COUNCIL
Have you ever considered running for City Council? Now’s your chance! The qualifying period for City of Lilburn Council Posts 3 and 4 began July 1, 2025. Bryson/Hood Road Re-alignment Project Update
Things are really coming together! Here’s a quick look at what’s happening:
- Crews are putting the finishing touches on the paving.
- A new Bryson Park monument sign will be going in soon—keep an eye out for it!
- The entrance, roundabout, and Lilburn School Road will all be up and running in the near future.
- Work on the detention pond at the entrance is also moving right along.
- If all goes as planned, the whole project will be wrapped up by early August.

Railroad Avenue Project Update
This week, crews will begin setting the pre-cast panels for the new parking deck, a major milestone that will bring the structure visibly above ground. On the multi-family portion of the project, work continues with plumbing installation, additional footings and wall construction, and the concrete pour for the amenity area.
