At the recent Town Hall, Patrick Burke, Interim COO of Gwinnett County Public Schools, presented information about the November 4 ESPLOST referendum. This measure is a renewal of the existing penny sales tax for education for the next five years. If approved by voters, revenue will be invested in school buildings, safety systems, classroom technology, buses, and learning materials.

Participants also discussed city projects, property maintenance policies, and other current hot topics. Thank you to everyone who joined the conversation!

Bryson Park Road Realignment: Ribbon Cutting on 9/23

Tomorrow marks the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Bryson Park road realignment project! This improvement is already making a difference, providing residents with an easier and safer flow of traffic in the area.

More About the Bryson Park Road Realignment Project Funding

The Hood Rd/Bryson Park Project delivers many critical safety enhancements at a construction cost of $4.42M. Before the project, Lilburn School Road, Hood Road, and Jennifer Lane intersected with Lawrenceville Highway with no traffic signals. Now, Lilburn School Road and Jennifer Lane join into the new roundabout that sends traffic to a signal at the entrance of Bryson Park. Hood Road was realigned to join Lawrenceville Highway at the new signal.

It took financial contributions from three organizations and a grant to fund the project: Lilburn Community Improvement District, Gwinnett County, City of Lilburn, and a $1M grant from the Georgia Transportation Infrastructure Bank. Gwinnett County contributed SPLOST funds and Lilburn contributed SPLOST and ARPA funds to cover the cost of the project.
