Comprehensive Plan Kick-Off

The City of Lilburn announced the planning process and timeline for the city's new Local Comprehensive Plan. This project is being funded by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs with the assistance of the Atlanta Regional Commission.

The Steering Committee for this five year plan will identify assets and challenges for the city and develop focus areas for the policy. The comprehensive plan process will take approximately ten months and will include a series of steps such as Visioning and Implementation, Plan Preparation, Review and Adoption, and Implementation.

SafetySmart Lilburn recognized

The City of Lilburn presented a proclamation to SafetySmart Lilburn, Inc. recognizing their years of support and service to the community. This all volunteer organization was formed in 2010 and served the Lilburn area for over seven years. The organization's mission included fostering safety throughout the community by sharing safety related information and providing programs, projects, and activities to enhance community safety. 

Laundromat approved for Harbins Road location

Council approved a change in zoning conditions for 732 Harbins Road that would allow for a laundry establishment on site. The change was approved with the condition that the hours of laundry operation be concurrent with the hours of the convenience store.
Vote: 4-0

Other Business

  • Council approved an alcohol license for Candela's Event Hall located at 733 Pleasant Hill Road. Vote: 4-0. 
  • A  packaged beer and wine license was approved for Speedway LLC #4104 at 5604 Lawrenceville Highway. Vote: 4-0.
  • Council approved electronic mail policy for the employees of the City of Lilburn. Vote: 4-0
  • Council tabled drive thru or service windows for package store locations proposed ordinance for a future date. Vote: 4-0
  • A proclamation for Arbor Day 2018 was presented.
