Property Maintenance Code
The City of Lilburn has adopted property maintenance standards as part of the City Code. These locally adopted requirements are enforceable within the city limits of Lilburn, and can be viewed here.

Code violations include:
- Parking on unapproved surfaces (ie: grass, gravel, wood, asphalt millings etc.)
- Outside storage of junk vehicles. A junk vehicle means any vehicle, car, truck, van, or trailer that is wrecked, dismantled, partially dismantled, stripped, partially stripped, inoperative, abandoned, or discarded. Up to two vehicles under repair may be stored in an enclosed building.
- Commercial vehicles parked in the driveway or street; they must be parked in an enclosed structure.
- Boats or RVs parked in the front yard or on the street. They must be parked in the side or rear yard and on an approved surface, which includes a concrete, asphalt, brick paver, or decorative stone contained by a confining border.
Illegal parking includes blocking of any driveway, fire hydrant, or sidewalk, or within 20 feet of an intersection. Contact the Lilburn Police Department non-emergency response: 770-513-5700.
All structures, including decks, porches, gazebos, sheds, barns, garages, additions and enclosures etc., require review and may need a permit.
Driveway replacement is allowed, but review is required for expansion/addition of existing and/or second driveways.
Properties in all zoning areas must be free from decay on the exterior of buildings, such as peeling paint, mildew, cracks, and general disrepair.
Code violations include:
- Grass or unkempt vegetation higher than 12 inches.
- Hedges should be maintained.
- Outdoor storage of appliances, building materials, rubbish, etc.
- Hazardous trees (per certified arborist), or debris more than 30 days old.
- Dumping or discharging pollutants into streets, ditches or waterways, including car washing and natural debris.

- Dogs must be kept on a leash or under control by verbal command.
- Chickens are allowed with appropriate housing requirements. Male peacocks, and roosters are not permitted in the city limits.
