The City Council, by 4-0 unanimous votes:
- Approved the second reading of Ordinance No. 2024-622, which enables new city council members to be sworn in as early as Jan. 1 following a municipal election.
- Approved Resolution No. 2024-02, which ensures the City abides by a regional Water Resources Management Plan mandated by the Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District (MWD) as it relates to plumbing contruction codes for water efficiency.
- Approved Resolution No. 2024-03, with an amendment, to adopt to the City's updated 2024 Comprehensive Plan for submission to the Department of Community Affairs. The state mandated growth blueprint now includes a "character map" that encourages more commercial projects and less residential ones on Highway 29.
- Tabled Resolution No. 2024-622, which would have approved two intergoverment agreement contracts tied to the Railroad Avenue project. The matter will be reconsidered at the April 8, 2024 Council meeting.
