Agenda Item 4 - TSP-2019-01 New Telecommunications Tower and Tall Structure Permit – 306 Luxomni Road
Conditional review and approval by City Council is required for new Tower and Tall Structure Permit (TSP-2019-01) according to Chapter 117- Telecommunication Towers and Antennas Ordinance. The application, filed by TowerCom for a new 175-foot tall wireless telecommunications tower and facility includes required analysis of existing towers. The applicant provided supplemental evidence that there are no other existing structures within the area that could meet T-Mobile’s wireless infrastructure coverage needs through co-location.
The application and proposed plans more specifically address criteria for Conditional Approval of a new tower according to Sec. 117-32. Considerations in approval or denial of a tall structures permit. The subject property, located at 306 Luxomni Road (PIN 6150 443) is zoned and surrounded by properties zoned and occupied by commercial business uses. A 12’ gravel drive is proposed to provide access from the easement off Luxomni Rd. in front of Home Depot. The proposed monopole facility is more than 1,500 feet from other towers and more than 400 feet from nearest residential property. With adequate lot setbacks, chain link fencing and 10’ landscape strip around the perimeter of the compound, the proposed 3,600 square foot space shown on the 1.34 acre tract includes 1 monopole tower designed with a neutral finish to minimize visual impacts and space for four (4) additional providers to collocate; thereby, limiting the need for additional towers in the service area. No artificial lighting or signage is proposed.
Public notice was placed on the property and letters were mailed to abutting properties notifying the owners of the pending TSP application. No objections were received.
